This shows how much one popular chef wants to transform a small town in America. I think that this will be a good show. The first one that I saw showed that the kids didn’t know what the veggies were, and that wasn’t very good.
CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS!
half of them might not be adults exactly. it’s pretty serious actually.
@guccidoree
wait did you just say to ur own city that its ugly?!?
also if you LISTEN.. he says HALF the populations not all.
he actually did change the lunch’s in school in england.. it was really good.
but seriously he is so motivated and
when i watched the show for the lunchs and he showed the fat .. it creeped the hell out of me!
Lol was he crying? (Jamie Oliver)
@IIBARCODEII
very true. The “its too expensive” argument is usually made by the people who have never even tried eating healthy but just want to make excuses. I was obese (240lbs, im quite short), i got my act together, stopped blaming others, ate right and excersised and am now a healthy 150lbs. I still eat until im full on a daily basis, you dont have to starve yourself to loose fat just making good food choices makes such a difference.
didn’t they say that the town is 50,000 people, and that half the town is obese….wouldn’t that mean he’d be saving 25,000 lives haha, they kinda make this out to be more serious than it is
And third… the guy who says ” we don’t wanna sit around and eat letuce all day.” is cleary just a fucking hick.
Man, I live in Huntington, and honestly half of this is bull shit and just makes us look bad to the whole damn country. I’m not fat and I’m not unhealthy at all! and I don’t like being treated like one. This dude came to our high school and shit. And First, he says “welcome to beautiful Huntington, West Virginia.” … Huntington isn’t beautiful at all. second he says he’s trying to save fifty thousand people… that’s bull shit too, not everyone in the whole damn city is fat or unhealthy.
Look up “West Virginia Town Gets Dubious Distinction” here. Huntington’s been holding this title for awhile now…
pizza for breakfast???? wtf
lol u fat?
Never cross my wildest dream that a chef can be a hero … You’re a hero Jamie!
Mmm I love me some Jamie Oliver!
The prices for food could be different if America changes some of it’s structure. Besides, you don’t organic foods. Exchange fried chicken with fries and some canned carrots for roasted potatoes, roasted chicken and wholesome veggies. Tell me, how is that more expensive?
I don’t see you doing anything about it- so sad that one man is the one doing this- a British man at that. He can’t dedicate his whole life tp this and sometimes the fatties need a sour change.
exactly!
Jamie Oliver cannot singlehandedly ‘fix’ the dysfunction that has brought about the toxic food environment with any amount of money. It needs to be a whole of society effort to change the way things are structured so that all the good foods ARE cheaper – $150 billion burden on the healthcare system as a result of obesity = profits of cheap food privatised and costs borne by people and the environment. Go Jamie, and Michael Pollan and everyone else at the vanguard of going into bat on this issue!
You don’t have to eat organic food if you can’t afford it—he’s talking about exchanging ho-ho’s for something that actually has nutrition in it.
Pizza for breakfast. Wow! Never heard something like that before
Go Jaimie! Keep up the passion and the best intentions I have ever seen!
Let’s face it, we suck: we’re one of the smokiest, fatest, dumbest states in the union.
GO HERD!
And let’s face it; this is also a very poor state, and eating healthy can get expensive. I’m not saying it isn’t worth it, but unless he’s willing to donate not just time, but also money, it’s probably not going to work. I’m glad someone is trying to help, because there is definitely an issue. Just try to go about it in a different way, don’t humiliate people, and try to understand that it’s hard to change some things, especially in a short amount of time.
