WRONG. Bourdain quotes the lyrics of the songs he’s hearing.
Watch the episode in CONTEXT.
He didn’t say anything wrong, let’s not be hypocrites. I work with DanceHall artists and for a company who puts on some shows feat artists. What he described is real, why are people so freakin quick to jump and yell “foul”. What is said in DanceHall lyrics, what we portray at Passa Passa while little boys are bending woman over pretending to $#%&, Nothing better or worse than hip hop, or hard rock, it’s entertainment, BUT let’s not cry murder when we are called on it.
Track ID anyone?
Naturally he’s white and he said bitches so everyone is overreacting. Dancehall artists can call women bitches in their lyrics and no one gets offended, but if an outside observer of the culture does it, it becomes a problem. Totally hypocritical. Women from any culture should either be offended by that word no matter who says it, or not at all. What he is commenting on are dancehall lyrics that call women bitches, which many of those songs do.
