Keith Floyd
Keith Floyd (born on 1943)is a world famous chef who is known worldwide because of the his cooking shows that are broadcasted on BBC. He completed his early studies at the Wellington School, Somerset. In the past, he has done a variety of jobs. Soon after completing his studies, he applied for a cub reporter job and worked for the Bristol Evening Post. One thing that is unique to him is that, in those early days, he wasn’t consistent in what he was doing. Actually, he wasn’t doing what he is doing now, which is his gold mine. Once he even joined the British army, after he got convinced by a movie. But soon he resigned from there, and started doing catering jobs.
In 1971, he was with three restaurants in Bristol. Even after struggling a lot, doing work day and night, those restaurants weren’t bringing him profits and he had financial problems. So, he sold all his restaurants at Bristol and moved to France. He had some money, and using that, he started a restaurant there. But, even that did not help him get rid of his financial problems. So he migrated from there to England again. His plans were to start and run a restaurant in Bristol again. But he did not have the required amount of money, so he had to take loans for the same. Having acquired money from different people, he started a restaurant in Bristol. But, this time, it was not under the name “Floyd’s restaurant”, since he had already sold the name earlier.
Floyd’s new restaurant was visited by celebrities often and this finally turned out to be a chance for him to show his talents to the world. He started his career in this field by working for the BBC as a presenter. Soon, he became popular and gained popularity as TV chef.
Even after getting a job at BBC he couldn’t overcome his financial problems. This was because of some other reasons. He used to drink a lot and that created a lot of troubles for him. He even got bankrupt in 1996. Things weren’t good at his end till 2008, after which he traveled to Singapore and Thailand in order to start new businesses there.
